Understanding Helper Loan & Repayment

The helper loan is an advance payment that employers provide upfront on behalf of the domestic helper. This amount covers the helper's training fees, agency fees in their home country, and other associated costs.

How Loan Repayment Works:
  • The loan is gradually recovered through monthly deductions from the helper's basic salary
  • During the initial months while the loan is being repaid, helpers typically receive minimal cash salary (minimum S$50 per month is guaranteed)
  • Sunday/overtime compensation is always paid in full and never deducted for loan repayment
  • Once the loan is fully repaid, helpers receive their complete monthly salary
Important: Each helper's bio-data includes a detailed salary schedule showing the exact monthly breakdown of gross salary, loan deductions, and net payment throughout the loan repayment period.
